US Rep. Bishop (NY 1st CD)
The 1st Congressional District of New York is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in eastern Long Island. It includes most of Central and Eastern Suffolk County, including most of Smithtown, as well as the entirety of the towns of Brookhaven, Riverhead, Southold, Southampton, East Hampton, and Shelter Island. The district encompasses extremely wealthy enclaves such as the Hamptons, middle class suburban towns such as Selden, Centereach and Lake Grove, working class neighborhoods such as Mastic, Shirley, and Riverhead and rural farming communities such as Mattituck and Jamesport on the North Fork. Democrat Tim Bishop has represented the district since 2003.
The district is a battleground, as President George W. Bush defeated challenger John Kerry by less than a percentage point here in 2004, while in 2008, President Barack Obama defeated John McCain here 52%-48%.

The 2nd Congressional District of New York is a congressional district for the United States House of Representatives in central Long Island. It includes all of the town of Huntington and parts of the towns of Babylon, Islip, and Smithtown in Suffolk County as well as part of the town of Oyster Bay in Nassau County. It comprises such communities as Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip, Commack, Deer Park, Dix Hills, Huntington, Melville, North Amityville, Northport, Oakdale, Plainview, Ronkonkoma, Sayville and Wyandanch. The District has a modest Democratic tilt. John Kerry defeated George W. Bush in this district 53%-45%. Democrat Steve Israel has represented the district since 2001.
US Rep. King (NY 3rd CD)
The 3rd District of New York is generally the eastern half of Nassau County, with some parts as far west as Island Park and Long Beach. The Nassau portion contains suburban communities such as Bellmore, Bethpage, Farmingdale, Hicksville, Levittown, Massapequa, Massapequa Park, Merrick, North Bellmore, North Merrick, Seaford, Syosset, and Wantagh. The Nassau portion of the district also contains the cities of Long Beach and Glen Cove. The district also extends along the South Shore of western Suffolk County encompassing parts of Amityville, Babylon, Bay Shore, Copiague, East Islip, Islip, Lindenhurst, North Lindenhurst, West Babylon, and West Islip, although it generally does not venture north of Sunrise Highway once in Suffolk County.
